Walking on Pickles

I wanted to get back to nature this weekend, well truthfully I wanted to find a way to exercise but have fun too.  So we went walking on pickles.  Maybe that is walking at pickles.  Pickle Springs, MO.  Its a beautiful natural area in Missouri that our IT Tech at work told me about.  It was absolutely gorgeous! Nick and I had such a lovely time, and it was a 2-mile hike so it was a decent amount of exercise too.

We were so invigorated that today we took another 2 mile walk at Pere Marquette State Park here in Illinois.  Lots of walking this weekend, and my legs are burning to prove it, but it felt good being active.

The added bonus was a lot of time in the car on our way to and front the parks so I finished a good bit on the last sleeve of Gathering Intentions.  Hopefully another week and I’ll have it done.
I’m anxious to start and finish a couple of other projects looming over my head, but really want to finish up some of these current projects.  There is alway so much to do and so little time to do it, but if it means I’m getting healthier because my knitting time is consumed with hiking, excercising, and/or walking, I guess I’ll accept that.  It just means my knitting time will be all that more special.
Well time to go make a lasagna.  Have a wonderful week.

It looks like a beautiful spot! Even better that the drive gave you some knitting time to boot.
